Flug am 08.11.05 von Bremen mit KLM nach Amsterdam, dann mit KLM Boeing 747 nach St. Maarten. Ankunft 15.00 Uhr, Fahrt mit Taxi nach Oyster Pond zu Sunsail und Übernahme und Versorgung der Schiffe mit Proviant. Erste Nacht an Bord der Barnebe 4 im Hafen. Teilnehmer:              16 Mann der Rumbuddelcrew Bremen.  

Flight on 08.11.05 from Bremen with KLM to Amsterdam, then with a KLM Boeing 747 to St. Maarten. Arrival 15.00 hours, journey with cab to Oyster pond to Sunsail and take-over of and supply for the ships with provisions. First night on board of the Barnebee 4 in the port. Participant: 16 man of the rum bottle crew Bremen. 

09.11.05 nachmittags Auslaufen von Oyster Pond in die Orient-Beach. Auf der Fahrt dorthin stellten wir einige wichtige Mängel an den Schiffen fest, die aber sofort von Mechanikern des Team Sunsail behoben wurden. Es wurde eine ruhige Nacht, vorher aber noch Schwimmen, tauchen und die obligatorischen grünen Dosen.......BECK`S. Auf der nebenstehenden Map ist der Kurs, den wir nehmen werden, rot markiert dargestellt. 

11-09-05 in the afternoon phasedown of Oyster pond into the Orient Beach. There we put some important lacks of the ships for the journey tightly on, but immediately of mechanics the this one cleared team Sunsail were. It became a peaceful night .Still swim before, dive however, and the obligatory green doses ... ...BECKS. The course which we will take is represented red highlightedly on the accompanying Map.

10.11.05, 14.00 Uhr setzen wir endlich Kurs um North Point nach Marigot Harbor ab, nachdem auch die letzten Defekte behoben waren. Marigot wird der Ausgangshafen zu unserem eigentlichen Ziel, den British Virgin Islands (BVI). 

We finally cancel course around North point to Marigot Harbor 10.11.05, 14.00 hourses after the last defects were also cleared. Marigot becomes the exit port to our real aim, the British Virgin Islands (BVI).

Am gleichen Tag, nach einem ausgedehnten Bummel durch Marigot und abschließenden Essen, wird um 19.00 Uhr Kurs zu den British Virgin Islands abgesetzt. Es ist dunkel, als wir auslaufen. Es liegen rund 85 Seemeilen vor uns. Nur mit dem Genua-Segel machen wir 3 Knoten und erreichen nach etwa 28 Stunden die BVI. Wachwechsel am Steuer alle 180 Minuten. 

On the same day after an extensive stroll by Marigot and final meals course is canceled to the British Virgin Islands at 19.00 hours. It is dark when we run out. About 85 sea miles are in front of us. Only with the Genoa sail we make to 3 knots and reach after about 28 hours the BVI. Changing of the guard at the steering wheel every 180 minutes. 

Auf der rot abgebildeten Route bewegten wir uns vom 11.Nov. bis 18. Nov., nachdem wir im Immigrations-Office in Spanish Town auf Virgin Gorda Visa für eine Woche erhalten hatten. --------Stationen: Bitter End, The Baths, Marina Cay, Road Town, Sopers Hole, Jost Van Dyke, Marina Cay, Bitter End.

We moved on the route shown red from the 11th Nov. to 18th Nov ., after we had got VISA in the Immigrations Office in Spanish Town on Virgin Gorda for a week. --------stations: Bitter End, The Baths, Marina Cay, Road Town, Sopers Hole, Jost Van Dyke, Marina Cay, Bitter End.

Von Road Town Harbor ging es dann über den Sir Francis Drake Channel nach Sopers Hole. Dabei entwickelte sich dann ein packendes Rennen zwischen den Schiffen Lady Maude und Barnabe, welches letztere knapp gewann.

It then worked fetches from Road Town Harbor via Sir Francis Drake Channel to Sopers Hole. A gripping race between the ships names ´Lady Maude´ and ´Barnabe´ which only just won the latter then developed.

Nach einem gemütlichen Abend bei Foxys und einer ruhigen Nacht ging es dann wieder zurück über Marina Cay nach Bitter End. Es wurde Zeit, den Rücktörn von den BVI nach St. Maarten anzutreten, da die Visa abgelaufen waren. Wir hatten Glück: Abends drehte der Wind voll aus Richtung Nordwest und blies die ganze Nacht. Nach nur 12 Stunden bei ca. 7 Knoten Geschwindigkeit erreichten wir dann Phillipsburg/St. Maarten, segelten dann aber gleich weiter nach dem östlich gelegenen Gustavia auf der Insel St. Barth.

After a comfortable evening at Foxys and a peaceful night it then went back about Marina Cay after  again Bitter End. It became time to begin the moving cruise of the BVI to St. Maarten since the visas had expired. We were lucky: In the evening the wind shifted fully from direction the northwest and the whole night blew. After only 12 hours at approx. 7 knots speed we then reached Phillipsburg/St. Maarten, then sailed equally further to the to the east situated Gustavia on the island of St. Barth, however.

Nach der obligatorischen Besichtigung Gustavias sowie einer Übernachtung wurden Segel gesetzt nach Anguilla, wo wir in der Road Bay festmachten. Nach ausgiebigem Abendessen und anschließender Taufe der Rookies Übernachtung. Wieder Segel gesetzt zum letzten Ankerplatz (Orient Bay) vor der Schiffsübergabe an Sunsail. Alles verlief ohne Probleme. Es war ein sehr schöner, erlebnisreicher Törn. Am 24.11.05 hoben wir dann mit Boeing 747 der KLM in St. Maarten ab und setzten am 25.11.05 über Curacao kommend in Amsterdam auf.

After the obligatory inspection Gustavias as well as an overnight stay sails were put to Anguilla where we fixed on in the Road Bay. After substantial dinner and following baptism of the Rookies overnight stay. Again sail put to the last anchorage (Orient Bay) before the ship handing over to Sunsail. Everything went without problems. It was a very beautiful, eventful cruise. On 11-24-5 we then take off with Boeing 747 of the KLM in St. Maarten and jumped over Curacao on 11-25-5 coming in Amsterdam.
