Montag 21.04. - Sonntag 27.04.

Überfahrt Fraser-Island, Dauer ca. ¾ Stunde. Anlegemanöver, die ersten Dingos. Sandige Wege. Die Insel ist etwa 30 km breit und 250 km lang. Wir durchqueren sie zur anderen Seite. Wie im Urwald sieht es hier aus. Uralte Bäume und verschlungene Pfade. In der Inselmitte gibt es einen Süßwassersee. Durch den weißen Sand sieht das Wasser herrlich blau aus. Auf der anderen Seite ein breiter fester Sandstrand, auf dem Sportflugzeuge zu Rundflügen starten und landen. Jeeps (4WD) heizten den Strand entlang wie auf der Autobahn. Ein ehemals gesunkenes, gestrandetes Wrack liegt am Strand, die „ Maheno“.

Süßwassercreeks kommen aus den Wäldern und münden ins Meer. Weiter den Strand rauf sind die Pinnacles oder Kathedralen (Gebäudeartige Felsen). Auf dem Rückweg sehen wir in der Ferne Haie. Weiterfahrt bis Rockhampton, danach Airlie-Beach. Hier ist der Bär los. Seglerparadies und jede Menge Läden für die Reichen. Wir übernachten im Nationalpark Whitsundays.

Wir erreichen Townsville, die Hauptstadt von Queensland. Besichtigung von Castle Hill und Blick über die gesamte Stadt mit Bucht und Hafen. Weiter zur Mission Beach, später Elly Bay. Regen, Regen und dunkle Wolken. Auf ins Atherton Tableland. Anfangs stark bewaldet mit vielen kleinen Wasserfällen. Später grüne, weiche Berge, kein Fels. Seilbahn - lassen wir wegen schlechten Wetters ausfallen. Deshalb Weiterfahrt zum Daintree River.

Montag 28.04. - Samstag 03.05.

Nach dem Frühstück auf nach Cairns. Kurz vor Cairns sahen wir einen einmaligen Campingplatz. Den haben wir, nachdem anständig Fosters-Bier eingeladen war, aufgesucht. Unser Bus stand zwischen Palmen, hinter uns das Meer und vor uns Wald und Berge. Entspannung in jeder Form. Die Sonne hat sich über den Tag hinweg ganz gut gezeigt. Gegen Abend wurde es dann kühler. Der letzte Tag mit unserem Mobil. Keine Kilometer, dafür Ausschlafen und ausgiebig frühstücken.

Das Wetter lädt zum Sonnen ein.
Ein volles Programm erwartet uns für heute. Kühlschrank entleeren, Wohnmobil reinigen usw. Gegen 10.00 verlassen wir unseren letzten Platz. Zur Tankstelle, um Benzin und Gas aufzufüllen, anschließend  zum Flughafen, um den Rückflug ok zu machen. Wir fahren ins Hotel und beziehen unser Zimmer. Geräumig mit großen Balkon und Blick aufs Meer. Fahrzeugabgabe.

Monday 21.04. -- Sunday 27.04.

Fraser-Island, duration approx. ¾ hour, goes laying out ship, the first dingos. Sandy ways. The island is about 30 km wide and 250 km long. We cross her to the other side. Like in the jungle, it looks here. Ancient trees and sinuous paths. There is a freshwater lake in the island middle. The water looks marvelously blue through the white sand. On the other side a broad firm sandy beach on which sporting aircrafts take off and land to sightseeing flights. Jeeps (4 WD) had the heating on along the beach like on the freeway. A wreck which is formerly sunk and run aground lies on the beach, the "Maheno". 

Freshwater creeks come from the woods and lead into the sea. The beach tear far the Pinnacles or cathedrals (building like rocks) are. We see sharks in the distance on the way back. Continuation of the journey to Rockhampton to the air Lie-Beach. The bear is loose here. Yachtsman paradise and every quantity of stores for the rich. We stay in the national park Whitsundays. 

We reach Townsville, the capital of Queensland. Inspection of Castle Hill and look over the entire town with bay and port. Far for the mission Beach, late Elly Bay. Rain, rain and dark clouds. On into the Atherton Tableland. Beginning strongly wooded with many little waterfalls. No rock turns green later, moves mountains. We drop cableway. Therefore continuation of the journey to the Daintree River.

Monday 28.04. -- Saturday 03.05.

After the breakfast on to Cairns. We saw a single camping site shortly before Cairns. We have found this one after Foster beer was decently loaded. Our bus stood, behind us the sea and in front of us woods and mountains between palms. Diversion in every form. The sun has shown itself quite good over the day. Toward evening it then got cooler. The last day with ours Mobil. No kilometers, have a good sleep for this and have breakfast substantially. 

The weather invites to sunbathing.

A full program expects us for today. Our last place refrigerator empty, we clean left against 10.00 etc. mobile home. Attaching to the gas station to fill gasoline and gas out to the airport, make ok around the return flight. We drive to the hotel and obtain our room. Spacious with big balcony and a view of the sea. Vehicle giving.
